Privacy Policy

Short version

BaZi Compass is designed to be private by default. We have no user accounts. Your birth information is processed in your own browser and is never sent to our servers — we have nothing to store it in. The only exception is the optional AI-enhanced reading feature, which is off by default and described below.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, logins, or profiles.
• No birth dates, times, or gender forwarded to any server by default.
• No cookies set by our own code.

What is stored on your device only

• Unlock memory (localStorage). When you watch an ad (or use the demo fallback) to unlock a Da Yun reading, a tiny marker is stored in your browser so the section stays unlocked on that device. It contains a hash of your chart inputs — not the inputs themselves. Clear your browser storage to remove it.

Third-party services we may use at launch

• Google Analytics (GA4) — privacy-friendly aggregate analytics (page views, feature usage). We will not pass chart parameters into analytics events.
• Google AdSense / Google Ad Manager — shows ads, including rewarded ads that unlock readings. These services may set their own cookies and are governed by Google’s privacy policies.
• AI reading provider (optional, off by default). When AI-enhanced readings are enabled, unlocking a Da Yun section sends a structured summary of the chart (stems, branches, ten stars, ages — no name, location or contact details) to the configured AI provider through our edge function, which forwards it without storing it. The generated reading is cached on your own device. If you do not want this, do not use the feature — or we can switch it off entirely at the site level.

Sharing

Our “share this chart” button creates a link that encodes only the birth parameters you entered. You choose whether and with whom to share it. If you do not want your birth data in a link, simply do not use the share button.

Children

The service is general-purpose educational content and is not directed at children under 13.
